1. Service Description

TakeHomeCompare (“the Service”) is an AI-powered compensation intelligence platform that provides salary analysis, negotiation coaching, resume analysis, offer comparison, and severance evaluation tools. The Service is operated by TakeHomeCompare (“we”, “us”, “our”).

2. User Accounts

You may use certain features without an account (free tools, anonymous assessment). To access premium features, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

Premium features are available through paid subscription tiers (Strategy, Career Pro) or a one-time purchase (Severance Pass). Subscription terms:

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
• You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your current billing period.
• We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
• The Severance Pass provides 30 days of full access from the date of purchase with no recurring charge.
• Price changes will be communicated 30 days in advance via email.
• Institutional and university redemption codes are valid for the period specified at issuance.

• Salary data is sourced from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). BLS publishes data with a lag (typically 12–18 months). We use now-casting models to estimate current figures, and these estimates are clearly labelled.
• Cost-of-living adjustments are approximations based on available economic indicators and may not reflect your specific circumstances.
• Tax calculations use current published federal and state tax brackets but may not account for all local taxes, credits, or deductions specific to your situation. Consult a tax professional for precise figures.
• Percentile rankings are derived from BLS occupational distributions and may not perfectly match industry-specific or company-specific compensation practices.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and analysis methodologies on TakeHomeCompare are our intellectual property or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our analysis outputs for commercial purposes without written permission. Your uploaded data (resumes, assessment responses) remains your property; by uploading it, you grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our data or algorithms.
• Share account credentials or subscription access with others.
• Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise platform security.
• Use AI coaching outputs to misrepresent your qualifications or engage in fraud.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TakeHomeCompare shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your Dashboard settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where practicable. Upon termination, your access to premium features will cease immediately, and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
